Privacy policy – Racingtipshub.com
Running an information site about racing and betting for readers in Great Britain calls for very little personal data, and Racingtipshub.com processes only that. The UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 apply, and this policy discharges the duty to inform under Article 13 of the UK GDPR.
Who is the controller
Under Article 4(7) UK GDPR the controller is the body operating Racingtipshub.com. Its name, address and e-mail address are available at racingtipshub.com, and the same route serves every question about personal data.
Data and retention
Whenever a page is requested, the server writes a log entry with the IP address, date and time, the address requested, the amount of data sent, the referring page and the browser type. These logs support security and the detection of abuse; after 90 days they are deleted or cut back until they no longer identify anyone. A person who writes to the editors gives a name, an e-mail address and the message itself, used only to reply and kept until the matter is closed and for as long as defending possible claims requires. Writing is voluntary, but no answer can be given without that data. Because the site has no reader accounts, deposits or bets, no payment details or identity documents are collected.
Why the data is used
The controller’s legitimate interests in keeping the site working and secure (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) support the server logs, the protection against abuse and the answering of messages. Non-essential cookies and audience measurement depend on consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR with regulation 6 of PECR) and run only after it is given; withdrawal is possible at any time and does not make earlier processing unlawful (Article 7(3)). The site makes no automated decisions and does no profiling.
Who receives data
Nothing is sold. Processors working on the controller’s instructions supply hosting, content delivery and e-mail (Article 28 UK GDPR), and public authorities receive data where the law demands. A transfer outside the United Kingdom happens only to a country covered by adequacy regulations or under appropriate safeguards, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum (Article 44 onwards).
Individual rights
Each person may ask for access (Article 15), rectification (Article 16), erasure (Article 17), restriction (Article 18) and portability (Article 20), and may object to processing based on legitimate interests (Article 21). A reply follows without undue delay and within one month of the request, with a possible extension of two further months under Article 12(3).
Complaints
The supervisory authority is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Anyone who considers that the processing of their data breaks data protection law may complain to it (Article 77 UK GDPR).
